Description: Game drives are conducted in four-wheel drive vehicles. Sighting of Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild dog are amongst many of the possibilities afforded by this exclusive environment. Afternoon and evening game drives allows the excitement of viewing nocturnal predators on their 'home turf'. Walks undertaken by a trained professional guide (who will carry a rifle) are possible (advanced notice is required). Here the guests get the opportunity to stalk and observe animals in their own environment, along with witnessing many of the other wonders of nature - which can be overlooked from the top of a vehicle. A Lion Research team works in the area and where possible are happy to interact with our guest giving talks defining their current studies. Advanced notice for their involvement is a necessity, and we in return encourage donations toward their research: The Okavango Lion Conservation Project or the Born Free Foundation
Starlings is a 16 bedded camp that places emphasis on providing guests with a return to the Classic African Safari experience. The camp offers comfortable accommodation in Meru style tents with twin beds, and en-suite open air shower and toilet. Lighting is by paraffin lamps and candles. The dining and lounge area of the camp is an elevated wooden deck, nestled under gloriously large, shady Acacia and Marula trees. This is the heart of the camp, with a well stocked bar. The comfortable lounge area provides a relaxing venue overlooking a waterhole.
