The rural vacation rental "Moulin de la Canne" (Cane mill) is originally a water mill, about 200 years old, where the farmers had their corn ground in earlier days.
'Moulin de la Canne ' is situated at the end of a lane (cul-de-sac) just outside the small village of Cersot, near the medieval town of Buxy, 12 miles from Chalon-sur-Saône, halfway between Dijon and Lyon.
The factory chimney reminds us of the steam machine that drove the mill in times of drought.
Across the bridge, on the other side of the river there is a sports field.
You can swim and fish in the river in the part of the river that has been dredged to a depth of 7 feet; children can play in the shallow river
Moulin de la Canne consists of four separate holiday homes:
- 'Le Meunier': suitable for 9 / 11 people; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- 'Le Moulin': suitable for 15 people; 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
- 'L' Etable': suitable for 6 people; 3 small bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- La Laiterie: suitable for 15 people; 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

Restaurants
In de villages and tows in the area you find different types of restaurants: from 'haute cuisine' to steak frites, from pizzeria to pancakerestaurant. In the holidayhome is a list of restaurants with telephone numbers availible.
Wine
Buxy is surrounded by vineyards, that form the Côte Chalonnaise, in the south of the famous Côte d' Or. Montagny, a village between Cersot and Buxy, is famous for its white wine.
Taste and buy wine ("Dégustation et vente du vin") in the "Cave coöperatives" of Buxy, Genouilly, St. Gengoux or Bissey sous Cruchaud.
And of course in the many private wine cellars. For example off the 'Route des Vins', in the direction of Côte d' Or in Givry, Chagny, Mercurey or Beaune.
Swimming, playing golf and tennis
There are several lakes with beaches where you can swim and sunbathe, each about 20 till 30 minutes by car:
at Montchanin le Haut: Etang Berthault
at Julien sur Deune: Lac Montaubry with bar and pedal boats to rent
at Sennecey le Grand: Lac de Laives; (there is an entrance fee)
There are tennis courts and golf courts near Chalon-sur-Saône and Le Creusot.
