Accommodation Type: Villa

Number of Bedrooms: 3

Description:

The Property:
The house is an old well maintained comfortable stone town home that is just been refurbished and redecorated. The kitchen has been completely renovated with all new cabinets and appliances including stove, microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator. Next to the kitchen separated by the entrance foyer and downstairs WC is a large sitting room. Both rooms have large double windows facing south and the view down the valley. There are three comfortable bedrooms on the second floor. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and one has twin beds. The master bedroom has a separate sink and bidet en suite. The newly renovated bathroom/shower and toilet is located on the second floor. A washer is located in the laundry/storage room adjacent to the garage

The grounds:
Just out the front entrance is large concrete patio. To the left under the large shade tree is a flagstone dining terrace. Both areas are elevated from our street below and private within the gated entrance and walls around the front of the property. The sunrise and sunset views from the flagstone terrace with either breakfast or dinner are the reason we bought this home. Next to the house is an attached garage and laundry/storage building. On the other side of the property are steps leading up to the two terraces of lawn above the house. The terraces are abundant with fruit trees and grapes. A walkway past the back of the house leads to a large sunbathing terrace over the garage

Nearby:
You can go in any direction and find the most unique, beautiful, historic and amazing things to do and see in this part of Dordogne called the Perigord Noir. For the simplest but necessary things like shopping, markets, and necessities the two closest villages are St Julien de Lampon (5km west) and Souillac (7km east). For the tourist and adventurer there is within a 50km radius, and easily accessible, the most famous places of interest. The medieval capital of Dordogne the town of Sarlat is 20km to the west. It has a wonderful Saturday market and numerous outstanding restaurants in the old town center. On your way to Sarlat you pass through La Roque Gageac and Chateau Montfort with its nearby golf course. Also near Sarlat is one of the key fortresses in the “Hundred Years War”, the Chateau Beynac. South of and in sight from the fortress Beynac is its counterpart Chateau de Castlenaud with its stunning medieval weapons museum. Nearby to the south is the incredible fortified bastide town of Domme. The views of the Dordogne River and valley from its perch atop the hills are breathtaking and famous for its beauty. Traveling east from Peyrillac 30km you will find the second most visited site in France, the town of Rocamadour. This spectacular series of churches and buildings literally built in to the side of a mountain is stunning. Make a day trip complete to this area with a stop at nearby Padirac. There you can visit the caverns of Padirac and take a unique boat ride on a river 600m underground to the main giant cavern at Padirac. Just north of our home you will find numerous prehistory sites including the famous Lascaux II cave near Montignac. In any direction you choose to go on your way to a major sight you select, you will find numerous smaller and enchanting chateaus and jardins to visit and enjoy. There is literally years worth of exploring to do if you plan to come back to the Perigord Noir
