Swallow is an upside down house with the bedrooms on the ground floor floor offers, pine-floored open plan living space with views from the windows across the garden and to the far side of the valley.

The lounge area has comfortable sofas and an armchair guaranteeing relaxing evenings listening to music, watching TV (Freeview) a DVD, rediscovering the delights of board games or settling down, glass of wine in hand to read good book from the bookshelves.

The kitchen and dining space, being open plan means that chefs will never be lonely (or short of helpers). The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, overn, grill, fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave and plenty of pans, utensils and other gadgets to allow you to prepare gourmet meals - or just to warm up the occasional takeaway (when not firing up the BBQ in the garden). The picturesque West Down Village is only a mile away with an traditional village shop and pub. The nearest resorts and beaches are those of Woolacombe (superb for surfing and sandcastle building), Mortehoe and the Victorian splendour of Ilfracombe with its famous ‘Tunnels Beach’ an traditional West Country harbour from which you can take fishing boats or day trips to Lundy Island. Away from the beaches North Devon offers superb walking along the coastal footpath, over Exmoor or along the Tarka Trail footpath along the river estuaries from Braunton to Great Torrington.

There are also many delightful coastal resorts and villages including Lynmouth, Lee Bay, Combe Martin, Croyde, Barnstaple, Bideford, Appledore and Clovelly.
