The Villa - set among vines, olives and lemon orchards - juts out over the Amalfi Coast and from the terraces and garden you have a never-ending panorama of the narrow "Valle del Dragone", which ends at the sea and a green arena formed by slopes of Monti Lattari, on whose peaks cling a few smoll old villages. The air is clean and clear, the fascinating tranquillity of the surrounding invite you to relax. The Villa may be reached from the main square of the Village in a few minutes walk (about 350 metres)through an enchanting narrow road between medioeval walls and panoramic views. DESCRIPTION: The entrance to the house is from the garden, which has a lemon pergola with a barbecue and a wood-burning oven for pizzas. On the ground floor there is a confortable kitchen, a bathroom and a dining room opened onto a nice patio of about 25 square meters (275 square feets) furnished with a table and sung loungers, so it can be used as an open-air dining area. A stairway leads to the upper floor, where there is a spacious sitting room with a double bed settee and a bedroom with two singles beds, on of each pulls out. From the sitting room you enter out onto a splendid terrace of about 25 square meters (275 square feets), shaded by a pergola, from where you can enjoy an extensive panorama. Here there are also sun loungers for your relaxtion. A spirale staircase takes you up from the sitting room to the double bedroom and a toilet with shower. Available baby bed for free. The furnishing of the villa are luxuriant and complete. RAVELLO: Perched on a 350 ft high cliff overlooking the blue sea of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello has conserved its historical monuments through the ages in a natural setting which has few equals in the world. One of the most important monuments is the Cathedral, founded in 1086, where one acan admire the Ambo and the Pulpit decorated with Byzantine mosaics, relics such as the bust of Sigilgaita Rufolo, the splendid bronze doors by Barisano da Trani and the museoum situated in the crypt. Villa Rufolo is the garden where Richard Wagner found his magical garden of Klingsor for the 2nd act of Parsifal, on May 26th 1880; it is for that reason that the Wagner Festival take place every year, during the mounth of July. It is olso the seat of European Univercity Centre for the Cultural Heritage. Villa Cimbrone, the other garden of Ravello, is famous for its breathtaking Belvedere, from which one can admire "the most beautiful view in the world" as says Gore Vidal, honorary citizen of Ravello. Others who have stayed here are D:H: Lawrence, author of "Lady Chatterly's lover" and Greta Garbo, who came here with her lover Leopold Stokowski, as inscribed on a plaque at the entrance of the avenue of the villa. Complete the list of monuments which can be visited as one strolls along the streets and alleyways of the enchanting town: the curch of San Giovanni del Toro, with its Pulpit in mosaic by Alfano da Termoli; the churches of Santa Maria a Gradillo and Santissima Annunziata, that has recently been restored and transformed into a conference hall; Villa Episcopio, that was Villa di Sangro, where King Vittorio Emanuele III signed his abdication in favour of his son Umberto II and where John F, Kennedy's family also stayed on a long memorable holiday; the cloister of the 13th century convent of SanFrancesco with his library, and the Piazza Fontana Moresca. /-/ WALKING AROUND RAVELLO: Those who wish to discover the area of the coast surrounding Ravello can walk along the pathways and up and down those steps which, until the last century, were the only roads linking the slopes on which Ravello and Scala stand with the sea. Hence the most significant routes are indicated; those which wander through terraced lemon groves and open onto unexpected views and groups of houses where time seems to have stopped, and churches and monuments which stand as witnesses to the grandeour of this area so steeped in history.
